Contestant on Third Time's the Charm.
Not bad for the weekend, but there's no strategy in this game.
No one said there is any, but thanks for your feedback. :)
I thought it wasn't working, then after 30 seconds or so I started hearing music from the target account. It would be nice if I could see the name/artist/playtime of the current song as well.
@EndangeredMassa, yes we had this on our short list of features and didn't quite get to it. We're working with the very early JS API from Rdio so the playback can get funky. We plan on ironing out these issues and going forward at http://try.eavesdrop.io - come back and check it out next week, we could use the feedback.

Awesome. I've been wanting to build something really similar for a while. Now I don't have to!
Neat for 48 hours of work, but I'm not sure it can compete with other games of the genre.
Youch! What do you think we could do better? Thanks for checking out our game, though.
I don't think this is the innovation on irc that we've been looking for. I basically just want an open source version of the Stack Overflow chat system.
Cool concept, but I would have liked to see more innovation on how these html-based constructs work.
Could you explain what you meant by that?
Thanks
It's cool that it's built with web tech, but it still looks pretty much like a normal desktop.
The UI was a bit rough to get used to, but the concept was kinda neat.
Hah, what a fun little way to visualize this.
It's an interesting idea, but I don't see myself ever using something like this.
Looks a start to something cool. I liked that it wasn't turn-based.
Really cool game! I just wish entities didn't lose my code so often.
Neat! The moment when I realized my color was on opponents' tracks was awesome. Cool idea.
I had a hard time getting even one cycle to process, but the game seemed cool from the pitch video. I really like that you turned this into a real game.
It's kinda neat, but I like the other poem entry a bit better.
Seems useful. I like the pivotal tracker integration. The pitch video was way too long, though. People are impatient.
Nice job. The UI was a tad confusing at times, but overall it's a nice implementation of the game. I would have liked to see a chat room or some way to express your incredulity at the choices made by other players. That's half the fun!
Gifs aren't my thing, but this is pretty awesome.
Hilarious. | |||
Hah, for some reason I love stuff like this. It's not the most complete game of this genre I've seen, but it is pretty impressive for 48 hours. I would have liked to see a max-height on the log so that I could use a scrollbar instead of scrolling the whole page. The graphics could be a bit better. I'd love to be able to mouse-over the inventory items to see the stats of the items. Even though I can't affect them, I'd also love to see my character stats. I really don't like that this was a facebook game since it didn't require it at all. I can see where some social features could be added later, though.
Yeah, we ran out of time to put in the social features, so it did kinda make the Facebook login somewhat pointless. But they're definitely planned, in what will (hopefully) be a decent parody of the social features of games made by companies with names starting with "Z".
I just wanted to mention that this is one of the few entries I've come back to "play".
I couldn't drag the notes around. (Chrome 23) I don't think I would use this over other options. I like that you have different preset templates available.
Hello, Thanks for your feedback.
Yes, we have problems with html5 canvas, we are planning to change to plain html for better UX.
Neat! Looks pretty good.
Looks like fun, but I couldn't sign in with Twitter. It threw a 500 error. Based on the pitch video, I love that you have some enforcement for different types of poems. It would be cool to have way for users to define their own types based on number of syllables, number of words, etc.
Yeah unfortunately the twitter 500 comes from a "production only" bug in the framework we used.
It would indeed be interesting to let users define their own game types. We'll look into it after NKO. Thanks for the feedback!
Kinda neat. The platform support is nice for iOS, but I wish it didn't use those flashy full-page refreshes. I'm not sure what the market is for a real-time image board like this beyond what http://canv.as already does.
Not very innovative, but the platform support is impressive!
I was turned off by the name and logo immediately. I know it sucks to hear, but I probably wouldn't have even looked at a site called SiteSmokr if I wasn't judging random entries. It does seem useful, though. For sites where you don't have the ability or capacity to write your own full-stack tests, this can provide some easy sanity checks. Do you see a use for this app in an already well-tested (using traditional unit and full-stack tests) system?
Seems cool, but passwords are a touchy subject: (1) Isn't this problem already solved by other trusted applications? What does your app do differently? (2) As just a web app, it looks like it would be hard to retrieve passwords on a mobile phone. (3) How can you guarantee that passwords stored by this system are safe? Overall, it looked useful. I would have liked to see much more explicit dictionary definitions like "more|less|equal" options with numeric textboxes and properties like "symbols|uppercase|lowercase". That way you could hopefully mirror the exact constraints of different systems.
thanks so much for voting and for your feedback!
(1) "trusted"... that's the point, there are no trusted applications :) I don't store any passwords, I only store the configurations. (2) yeah, this could certainly use some work for mobile. you can get to it through the facebook app, but it's rough (3) I don't store passwords, that's how ;) watch the network traffic, you won't see any sensitive info
there are "symbols|uppercase|lowercase|digits" radios on the config screen for each generator. is that what you wanted? I think a future version will have the requirements for major websites... (someone else's suggestion)
Ah! I was missing that point. I'll update my vote.
Fun pitch video. It sounds easier to use than torrents.
Very polished, interesting idea. I loved the music and the style. However, I didn't find the gameplay all that fun.
Fun stuff! I really liked Joust and this is a fine version of it. It seems that people aren't disconnected properly, leaving a lot of stray players in the game. Otherwise, mostly smooth movement and fun gameplay made this an enjoyable entry.
Thanks!
This is actually a bug with connection, unfortunately. If you connect before the client-side game is finished loading, you get a stray copy of yourself :(.
Cool stuff. Apple (and probably others) are experimenting with this idea already, if rumors are to be believed, but it's nice to see how we could get the same effect without closed hardware (like an Apple TV).
