Nikolai Onken
Nikolai has been developing web applications since 1997 and since then he has been continuously involved with open source projects such as the Dojo Toolkit.
Since 2008, mobile cross platform development has been the primary focus of his work and he likes to push the browser as platform forward through projects like HumanAPI - yes Robots are coming to JavaScript.
Being a co-founder of uxebu, a development shop based in Munich, Amsterdam and Palo Alto, he is now developing tools like apparat.io for developers to make mobile HTML5 development easier.

Hi there, a bit of feedback:
- fun idea and usage of the camera
- it would be nice if you would have some game AI so I don't have to wait for another user to play the game. Its always an issue for multiplayer games before they become famous
- mobile app would be awesome (phonegap, not sure of chrome on android supports camera already?) This way you can make people play in public transport and stuff ;)
- high scores, etc. would be a nice add on as well

Hi there, a little bit of feedback:
- great work, I love experiments with hardware and real-life things!
- I was a bit disappointed that it took quite a while for the video to actually get to the cool stuff you worked on, the other stuff is great given that we're close to christmas, but I wanted to see the shirt, maybe see it been used outside on the street and see feedback of people seeing it. Since there was no category for that I gave two stars for completeness
- whats your vision for such a sweater? why would we need this? where would it be useful? What would the next iteration look like? Would be nice to learn about that as well.

- Multiplayer games are awesome, but can be frustrating when no one else is around to play. Maybe provide AI or something else to do
- When you play for the first time, show in-game instructions so I can play without having to read the manual
- music would be cool

Haha, awesome video and job! I like the concept of the game and the fact that it makes its players look ridiculous :) Its probably somewhat healthy as well. Some feedback:
- the pairing was tricky, maybe I just didn't understand?
- Is connecting a second device supported?
- I don't like typing urls on mobile devices - qr codes could make pairing much easier: launche game, show qr code, connect devices, baam
- there should be other ones as well BowlBro or something :)

- it would be nice to have a bit of more intelligence in the game, so I can do more than just give presents :)
- The design is very basic, maybe add a world where the character lives in?
- The guest access didn't work for me

Hi there, a little bit of feedback:
- it would be great if you could explain a bit more what this is useful for. Do you actually store the passwords on the server, so I could use this as a 1password replacement, and then how would my workflow look like? (I would be a little worried to store my passwords on some server, but people do that with 1password as well, so some explanation why this might be ok would be good - e.g. you don't store the master password), or is this "just" a generator, storing in localStorage?
- If would be nice if you wouldn't have to hit generate explicitly, you could listen to keyup events to generate the password. It would keep the ui simpler and would require less interaction.

yes, to more messaging (the messaging there was an eleventh hour addition when my wife looked at it the first time and said "huh?") :)
no, I don't store any passords at all. it's all deterministic based on md5 or sha1 (v2 will be only PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256 for reasons I didn't fully understand a week ago). if you forget your master, all your other passwords don't exist anymore.
yes to "generate" being an extra click for no reason. I think that has to do with the somewhat organic evolution of the development (but there's no good excuse for bad design) :)

- it would be nice if a random mapper would be selected on launch so you don't have to read text before you start
- it wasn't clear to me whether this is realtime or not (if not, would be nice if you could see new additions to the map in realtime)
- Would be nice to see date/time with contribution as well

Hi there. Here a bit of feedback:
- Tools for the web is definitely an area where we need some serious innovation, so I think the choice of topic is great.
- Before you continue adding features, maybe take a step back and think about how the reality of how we access the internet looks like in 2, 5 years. My answer would be that it is very mobile, touch driven and different screen size driven.
- The same counts for how the tool itself should work. Is it ready to be used on an iPad? Do the menus work and is the "menu paradigm" as you use it now really a good one for mobile devices? (e.g. button sizes, can you control the ui with gestures? etc.)
- How would you design a tool to build content for the web if the only device you had to target would be a mobile device and if the only device you can work with would be mobile? I think this can lead to some interesting answers :)

Hi there, just took a look at hackchat and here is a bit of feedback:
- I tend to use IRC like chats for open-source projects, or company chats. It would be great if you can make it extensible through being able to hook into webservices, such as github, buildsystems, twitter searches, etc. If this was possible this would be an environment which I would consider to use
- Closed chats, for us as a company we'd like to be able to have closed chats so we can discuss company projects
- history / logs would be great
- themes :)
- how well does it work on mobile? (e.g. keyboard shortcuts are tricky and time consuming)
