Ha! This is pretty awesome. Nice work guys. I don't really no what else to say. I like the fun take you guys have on this for NKO but the idea could be very beneficial especially when conferencing or for people with disabilities. Nice modular code and nice use of browserify and modernizr. Very cool!
Awesome way to improve typing and make it fun. Especially for kids I think. The design is really well done. Had some misalignment on the main page (the play now button covers the potential grey match box). I also changed my name but it still kept me as anonymous. Also, after a bit of playing it just stopped working for me. Not sure why (some internal server error). Anyway, those are minor little bugs. This app may benefit from an MVC framework, as it would be better to see a bit more modularity in the code (although its not bad). Great use of Bootstrap and really great to see Font Awesome up in there! Overall, great job in a weekend! It's a pretty solid implementation. I really like the idea as well.
This a really great idea! A local startup actually is doing this as well but with native apps. Awesome job on the design! Love it! Very intuitive UI and great little popup/alert messages. I wasn't able to pan around on the map in chrome desktop. I think that is a necessary feature. Awesome job on the implementation. Love the use of Backbone and RequireJS. Very modular, which will be very helpful if you take this further. Amazing job in a weekend. Very complete, very well designed, very well done! :-)
Nice job on the design. Love the hornet character. Beautiful simple use of Bootstrap with the sliding navbar! Since you're using Bootstrap a responsive site would have been nice. Pretty neat idea actually. I could see this being pretty useful! Nice work in such short time and great job on having such a complete example and demo page.
First off, great work on the design and the main page! Looks awesome! Great work on the screencast as well. I'm not sure if this app is for me. What is the benefit over just telling the person to send me an email with the task details? It's just one more place that I need to look now. It's not really a bad idea though. Some people might find it very useful, especially if there is integration with task management tools like Things or Google tasks. Not much client side code to review but great job on using minification and hashes for your JS and CSS files. Nice work on having something so solid in one weekend!
Really well done design. Love the graphics and the physics! The movement of the ships is choppy though which seems weird because the "horses" run so smoothly. Would have liked to see ships and planets blow up! :-) Would also have liked to see a better scoring system (maybe my own score or at least for the life of the ship). Nice on writing some modular JS! Very clean implementation. Great job for the weekend! If this is taken a bit further it might be pretty fun.
This app is pretty cool. Neat take on the crossword. Very complete implementation. Nice work on scoping this and managing to get it completed. Could use a little nicer design work but this is a minor critique. Would have liked to see the code a bit more organized. There are so many great solutions to making modular JS code now. I really like the use of CSS transitions though! Overall, very well done in a weekend!
Thanks for the input! We know our code is a bit (ok a lot) sloppy, but it was the first time for any of us working with Node. So, it was more of a race to get things done than to do them properly given the 48 hour limit.
Seems solid. I would have liked to be able to hook up to freenode irc channels. I was able to see messages of channels that I was not on. Not sure if that was intended or not. A nice utility tool but not that innovative.
You really should have fixed the login issue. I have to really want to play the game in order to use that redirect. Great job on the design and canvas implementation. Like that you used a module style for the client side code. Concept for the game is a bit boring though...
Ha! Substack this is pretty awesome! Loving the artwork! This is a cool, fun way to show some live coding client side. I can think of some seriously awesome applications to the live modification of objects/client side REPL.
One downside :-(. I didn't find the interface too intuitive. The video helped a decent a mount but it was still a little confusing. Meh, I have to critique something being a judge ;-).
Of course I love the use of all the small modules. Pretty awesome to see browserify in use by the creator and a bunch of people on the site. Sick use of streams and some of the other core node modules client side. I've been really meaning to try that out.
Great job here man and all the work you have done in the node community! Hope to be able to thank you in person some time.
