SVP/Product & Design for Wikia. Mom of two (including this little dude: @complaineypants). Lover of donuts.
I am also a fan of trying to reduce the noise and have used services like storify too. I agree with most others, that with a little design love you could turn this into something sure useful! And I am impressed what you did on your own in two days. Well done!
Thanks Sarah!
I'll do my best to implement the stream instead of the status updated, which will give more media ( e.g video and pictures, articles ).
Love it (though couldn't authenticate). But the product seems fully baked with lots of nice features and interactions already built. Actually seems like an amazing amount of work you accomplished in a short period of time! Bravo.
I loved this entry! Was very addicting. So simple yet so fun. Each photo makes you want to try harder. Should have a "skip photo" button for the pics that are no fun (screenshots, fashion poses, celebs). I like the URL share feature. This is one of my favs so far.
Thank you! And it was nice playing with you :)
This could be very fun/useful in orgs like mine where we coordinate sprint planning & story elaborations across multiple scrum teams. The UI seems very clean, simple as well. Unfortunately, the server never responded when i tried to log in. Though I was able to authenticate on the pivotaltracker site using the test account. Just seemed that the server was down. But great concept and seemingly effort.
I wanted this to work - I love these sorts of data / word tools. I saw some stuff bubble up only when there were no search terms entered. When I did enter terms (like Obama, Israel, etc) nothing happened - by which I mean the screen was blank - though the sparkline at bottom seemed to have data over time. Wasn't then clear to me if the sparkline was related to my search term. When I clicked into some of the news items on the left, I though the concept was cool - to draw connections between stories and terms. But it seemed to be a dummy entry (only working for China) to show the concept. Then it was hard to get back out. With some more time though, I think you could make a pretty cool product.
Slowness is actually because there's more data than there was when we were coding it (60000 nodes and 92000 relations at the moment) and our server resources are limited. I guess we should have made it static to show the app's features better. I wanted it to have new articles.
Though I never got a chance to play the game, what I liked is the overall package. The design seems pretty fully baked in the mobile skin - with good UX and visuals. I liked the added features from the site too - clear explanations and even a QR code (which haven't taken off in the US as they have there ;). I also liked the team photo animation at the bottom. Seems like you guys had a lot of fun with this -- which is the whole point.
Was easy to sign in, get started - so that all works. And the design is nice, clean, understandable. The progress goes a little too fast I think. Would be more fun if I could see what all those funny things my awesome character was earning/defeating/etc were. The leaderboard seems pointless since it presumably just indicates who has had the browser open the longest - which I guess is the larger statement about RPGs you are actually trying to make. SO, through that lens, kudos!
we tried REALLY hard to get enough people to get a game going. then we were in a room started by someone else. oops. startover. then when i picked a villager to eat, the game crashed and informed everyone that i ruined the game. this is a fun concept. but needs a single-player mode.
There was a delay in starting - so for the first few times I didn't think it was working. I tried in a few browsers before realizing I needed to wait. I thought perhaps I wasn't clicking on the right things. That being said, when it started the battle, I enjoyed it. And in doing so, realized I am a shitty typist.
Tried in a few browsers. Worked pretty fast. Didn't get a chance to interact with other players. Took me a few minutes to orient myself as to what I was supposed to do. Dziękuję, Sara
