Adding a sync toggle is a great idea. I'll definitely throw that in there. And I'll see if I can integrate chat in a minimal way. I have a feeling it could be too distracting.
I agree about chat. The person in presenter mode could maybe control it... post a question and accept answers. Turn it on/off. Honestly though, people are probably Skyping if they're doing this remote. And in person they can just raise a hand.
Networked group refrigerator magnet alphabet... kinda neat. Different colors maybe would be nice? Make a game out of it? Give the crowd a word, and time them how fast they can come together to spell it? Not enough here to keep me coming back if it is just letters that move around.
Thanks for the feedback!
Fun! I wish there had been some robbers playing... or maybe robber bots. Game was kind of unbalanced with only thieves. The connected robber wasn't moving. Wish the light bubble wasn't quite so claustrophobic. I think you should be proud of this for 48 hours of work. You'll need to add more of a hook to this game to make people want to come back I think.
Thanks! Yeah, future development would include a lot more.
The limited visibility thing was an important gameplay mechanic to us, but it could probably have been a tad larger.
I was excited to get to play multiplayer pacman... the action (movement) needed to be faster, and I think it was a mistake to not let people play alone while they are waiting for people to join.
Its a shame that i didnt put in solo and partial play especially since that would be an hour at most to put that in. I recognize the need for that now after entries were closed. On the plus side, if you do wrangle 4 other people to get on it will reliably work.
Initial reaction: Really great. Useful, fun, simple. Probably not enough here to keep me coming back, though.
This is something I've often wanted to build. Obviously I'd like to see the recommendations more refined, but pretty good for 48 hours. I don't like that removing ingredients after I add them isn't obvious. I want options like: recipes using all ingredients vs any ingredients, etc. Some sorting of results.
Nice work! A playable game with chat. I don't know if those were other players who couldn't figure out the game (or were crashing in Safari) or bots... but I was glad to have targets. The blowing up planets was a very nice surprise. Reminds me of Apestronauts, but taken much farther.
Thanks Zach! We woke up today to find a bunch of people who left their browser tab open and had to restart the server to DC them. We definitely referenced Apestronauts a few times during development. I just checked it out again and it's great to see that you guys left the project running and gave it some extra polish.
I really like that I can dig in a persistent world with other players. But you haven't given me any reason to keep digging.
Jet fuel? :) We didn't have enough time to polish it as much as we wanted to (actually we slacked off a bit), bu we'll keep working on it for a release.
I liked the color shift mechanic. Waiting for other players to join isn't much fun, and then you get into a race and the other person dies right away and you don't get to keep going... so you only see/play the game in very short bursts.
I enjoyed exploring the different room art. I wish I could move faster, and I was not a fan of the alt+enter to submit my chat message thing.
The front-end web design work is neat. You've got a CSS3 3D flip. The graphic design work is pretty. This is just chat, though. Room-based text chat. That's it. Literally all I can do is send text chats to other people.
Works exactly as advertised. Very useful. Seems to work like magic, I'm impressed. You even correctly handle when a viewer is out of sync with the presenter, although I would have given you a higher completeness score if somehow maybe the viewer can toggle a state where they go async and then can resync later. And then you could get into realtime feedback and stuff via chat maybe? This is great!
Almost seems like you could generalize this into a tool whereby anybody could tour anybody else through any website? Although for marketing purposes you're better off being more narrow and focused.
I hope you make this available as a thing post-competition. I'd use it.
